Here is a preview to the 2016 World Championship Snooker Quarter Finals:
Alan McManus John Higgins
This is a battle of the Scotsmen and this could end up being a really close match. Both players like to take their time around the table and are very methodical. It’s going to be interesting to see who cracks first. McManus has been playing some very good snooker similar to the standard that made him so successful during the 90s and i can see him causing an upset here.
Ding Junhui Mark Williams
Both these players seem to be in really good form at the right time. Ding has played a lot of snooker lately due to him having to go through the qualifiers and he clearly doesn’t lack match practice. I can see Ding winning this one but if Williams gets ahead, it’s going to be very hard to catch him as he is a very good front runner.
Barry Hawkins Marco Fu
With Barry Hawkins making the headlines last night with his 13-12 victory over tournament favourite Ronnie O’Sullivan, the question remains can he bring the same standard of snooker into the quarter finals. Whereas Marco Fu has gone under the radar in this year’s competition playing some fabulous snooker along the way. I think a lot was taken out of Hawkins during his victory last night and so I’m going for a Marco Fu victory.
Kyren Wilson Mark Selby
This match sees one of snooker’s up and coming talents up against a former winner. Kyren Wilson has played some really good snooker knocking out two seeds in Joe Perry and Mark Allen. In his last match he came out the traps so fast in the opening session winning it 7-1. If he plays to the same standard, it will be a very close match with Selby having already played some tough matches on his way to the quarter finals. I think Selby will just edge this one.
