It was quite a dull start to the much with Arsenal not causing the Norwich goalkeeper to make a save. Arsenal had 69% of the possession in the first half and 7 attempts at goal with none on target. Norwich on the other hand, played most the first half on the back foot but during the last 5 minutes before the interval, managed to create 3 great chances and should have been ahead at the break.

The second half  started just just like the first and Olivier Giroud wasn’t having the best of games upfront for Arsenal and many of the fans started to get restless and wanted him subbed. On 56 minutes, Arsene Wenger opted to make a change and brought on Danny Welbeck on. As the 4th official’s board was raised, many fans expected to see Giroud’s number to appear but to their dismay, it was Alex Iwobi’s number. Boo’s rang around the stadium as fans disagreed with the substitution.

Three minutes later and Arsenal had the lead. A cross was floated in from the edge of the box by Bellerin and was met by Giroud who set up Danny Welbeck with a lovely cushioned header. Welbeck’s drive took a nick off Norwich defender Bassong on the way through to the bottom corner of the Norwich goal.

It wasn’t the best of games but Arsenal survived a scared in the first half and managed to get the win. It now means Norwich have slipped into the relation zone and are now 1 point behind Sunderland and 2 points behind Newcastle.
