Chelsea extending their Premier League winning streak to 11 games in a row with a hard fought 1-0 win away to Crystal Palace in foggy conditions at Selhurst Park.
Chelsea, in their changed kit of white, made two changes to the team that started against Sunderland midweek, with Willian and Fabregas being replaced with Hazard and Matic. They created very little in the first half until Diego Costa headed in Azpilicueta’s cross late in the first half.
The second half was more open with Chelsea creating a handful of chances to kill the game off and with the score at 1-0, Palace still felt he had a chance. However, Conte’s men defended brilliantly, limiting Crystal Palace to very little in front of goal and in all fairness, the scoreline of 1-0 flattered Crystal Palace and Alan Pardew will be under pressure over the Christmas period to pick up some vital points as they edge nearer to the relegation Zone.
The only down side for Chelsea would be the yellow cards to two of their key men in Costa and Kante meaning they will both miss the Boxing Day clash with Bournemouth but on a positive note, Chelsea are guaranteed to be top of the tree at Christmas!
