Tonight’s English Premier League clash between Tottenham and Chelsea could be regarded as the biggest match in the title race so far. With Liverpool dropping points away to Sunderland, Chelsea could go 8 points clear with victory at White Hart Lane which would mean they would break the record of consecutive victories in a season.
Tottenham on the other hand, have dropped out the top 4, and so a win is needed to reclaim fourth place ahead of Arsenal.
It’s going to be a very close contest with both teams really in good form and no doubt Spurs will want to spoil Chelsea’s winning run.
Since Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat to Arsenal, Antonio Conte decided to change his formation and from that day on, they haven’t looked back. Thirteen consecutive victories have seen them rise to the top of the table and it’s seen the likes Eden Hazard and Diego Costa play arguably the best football of their career. Both men are in exceptional form and are tearing defences apart.
There is no doubt that Spurs are playing some great football too. They have been scoring plenty of goals themselves and like Chelsea, have a solid back line. The two teams have the two best defensive records in the league so far so and you would think from going on that statistic that there don’t be many goals on this one.
However, over the years this fixture at White Hart Lane has always produced plenty goals and I’m going for a Chelsea victory tonight.
